GREENVILLE, N.Y. (April 10, 2026) — Scene One Entertainment announced it has entered into an agreement to operate the Greenville Drive-In, with a targeted reopening on May 15. The Drive-In is conveniently located just south of town on Route 32.
First opened in 1959 by Peter Carelas and under the care and ownership of Dwight Grimm and Leigh Van Swall, the Greenville Drive-In has been a destination for cinephiles in the Hudson Valley and the Catskills for decades.
Under Grimm and Van Swall, many upgrades took place, including updated projection and sound equipment to enhance the presentation. Additionally, the creation of a biergarten featuring New York-made beer, wine, and spirits has been a fan favorite.
“Drive-in theaters are the seminal sign of summer and I couldn’t be more proud to keep the tradition alive at the Greenville Drive-In,” said Joe Masher, owner and CEO, Scene One Entertainment. “The amazing work that Dwight and Leigh have done over the past decade to reinvigorate this landmark is one of the very top reasons, outside of my love for drive-in theaters, why keeping the drive-in alive this season and for seasons to come was important.”
Scene One intends make improvements to the drive-in theater, including screen painting, continuing the biergarten, and additional enhancements to be announced. Under Scene One, the drive-in will feature a mix of first-run, Hollywood features and classic films.
The company operates nine other cinema locations in five states, and the historic Huck Finn’s Playland amusement park in Albany.
